I recently read an article on Desiring God entitled Hillary, Bernie, Donald, and Me. It was amazingly encouraging to me because John Piper describes how at the age of 70 and beyond all these candidates still have goals of doing something exceptional in their lives, which includes the “hardest job in the world!” How cool is that! Piper goes on to list many people who have accomplished amazing things and set out goals to do great things beyond the age of 70.

Piper does a fantastic job in reminding believers that retirement is not mandated in the Bible. It certainly was not a part of the lives and plans of Moses, Paul and other important biblical characters. He draws the point that for the Christian, “our retirement is in heaven.”

I tell you, when I was done reading the article, I was so pumped, so encouraged, so motivated to do incredible things for the Lord Jesus. He deserves that His people be sold-out for His cause. Oh that the Lord would raise up a people that are zealous for Him! That He would help us to live lives that glorify Him in all things, at all times. He is amazing. He is incredible! May God help us to redeem our time that we may do things for His glory.

15 Therefore [j]be careful how you walk, not as unwise men but as wise, 16 [k]making the most of your time, because the days are evil. 17 So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. ~ Ephesians 5:15-17
